Retail Manager


Our restaurant partner Joseph Richard Group (JRG) is seeking a Retail Manager to join our community at Stanley Park Restaurant & Pub in Vancouver

Stanley Park Brewing Restaurant & Brewpub is nestled in the heart of Stanley Park surrounded by beautiful scenery, where we love serving park-inspired beers and trying out our latest innovations. We’re looking for a Retail Manager to join the team to invigorate our retail space, reporting to our Brewpub General Manager and working with SPB Marketing team, to grow sales and we’re offering the best experience to our customers online and through our third-party platforms.

Brewpub Retail

The retail space at our brewpub allows our customers to take a bit of the adventure home with them, whether it’s a t-shirt for themselves or a gift for the beer-lover in their life. We often hold a number of activities at the brewpub throughout the year but also team up with our brand partners to use our iconic space in the park to host their events.

Brewpub Retail Responsibilities:

  • Leading retail sales at the Stanley Park Brewpub.
  • Merchandising the brewpub retail space to promote sales, identifying opportunities for growth and implementing retail programs and best practices.
  • Managing brewpub beer-to-go, ensuring clear communication about our packaged beer and growler offerings, featuring appropriate POS and customer flow during busy periods.
  • Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels, ordering merch through the internal warehousing portal and beer through SPB Order Desk.
  • Collaborating with the SPB brand team to support and deliver brewpub marketing activities and programs.
  • Assisting Brewpub General Manager, Head Chef and brewing team with brewpub activations (e.g. beer pairing dinners, events).
  • Scoping relevant retail partners and vendors that align with the SPB brand positioning to drive incremental sales.
  • Managing retail calendar (e.g. designing gift sets and sales promotions.)
  • Reporting retail sales figures in weekly brewpub meetings.
  • Monthly reconciliation of sales.


We launched our online Brewstore in March 2020 and there’s a huge opportunity for growth. With a number of online orders flowing through the Brewpub, the retail manager will take the lead in managing the fulfillment of Brewstore orders.

E-Commerce Responsibilities:

  • Preparing online orders, managing the picking and packing for shipments, organising orders for the delivery drivers and ensuring pick-up orders are prepared for customers.
  • Monitoring and updating Brewstore inventory to ensure it is accurate.
  • Dealing with customer questions, queries and escalating feedback, if necessary.
  • Supporting the digital marketing manager with Brewstore product listings and managing store content (such as photography, brand assets etc.).
  • Assisting in implementing e-commerce marketing activities and programs.
  • Liaise with the SPB eCommerce team, implementing best practices and sharing any learnings.
  • Monthly reconciliation of sales.

Third-Party Delivery Apps

We want to make our customers have the best experience of our brewpub, even at home. The Retail Manager will take the lead in ensuring our third-party delivery apps are managed and maintained to drive additional revenue to the Brewpub.

Third-Party Delivery Apps Responsibilities:

  • Making sure that the Brewpub menu offerings are accurate through our third-party apps (UberEars, DoorDash and SkipTheDishes).
  • Optimizing menus, upselling/cross selling, managing promotions to deliver maximum order size.
  • Ensure that we deliver customers a 5-star experience to drive repeat purchases.
  • Managing and escalating feedback. Engaging with customers to address any issues.
  • Working closely with the JRG and SPB Brand team to manage menu content (such as image assets & photography).
  • Developing incentives programs, promotions and managing food packaging to ensure customers are getting their items delivered in the best condition.
  • Reporting actionable insights – best selling items, promotion results etc. 

Job Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business/Commerce major is preferred)
  • MUST be 19 years or older
  • Previous hospitality, sales, marketing or retail experience
  • Serve it right certification is required
  • Must be able to withstand physically demanding tasks (lifting heavy boxes, cases of beer)
  • Must be well organized, able to multitask and work independently
  • Must be comfortable with presenting to groups
  • Experience in the beer industry would be an asset
