Women’s Equality Day Brave Noise Collaboration Brew

This Women’s Equality Day our team is taking part in the Brave Noise collaboration brew, a collaboration with a big goal: a safe and discrimination-free beer industry.

Brave Noise is a global collaborative effort to provide inclusive and safe environments for women, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ throughout the beer industry. This movement is about more than just brewing beer: it is a call to action for breweries to have, and to be transparent with their policies and commit to long-term work.

At Stanley Park Brewing we believe that best ideas come from an inclusive environment that embraces diverse perspectives. The challenges we face today need nothing less than our best ideas and we commit to raising these voices. We are participating in this collective expression of hope, to join and amplify the many voices calling for the change in our industry.

In the last few years, our team has set goals for ourselves to further educate ourselves and utilize resources to become a better organization as a whole:

  • Updated Code of Conduct that we are proud to share on our website and in our brewpub
  • Internal Employee resource group education webinar sessions focusing on Gender Identity
  • Providing free education opportunities to our local community, in conjunction with our partners such as Talaysay Tours and Vancouver Chinatown Foundation
  • Over 4 years of Pink Boots Society Collaboration Brews, focusing to assist, inspire & encourage women and/or non-binary individuals in the fermented/alcoholic beverage profession through education

We’re happy to continually support the women on our team, and the greater industry with these small actions, that all can add up to a big change. The work does not end with the above momentum. We look forward to the continued learning workshops with Ren Navarro with Beer. Diversity. in the coming months.

Our hope is that by participating in this brew, we can bring more attention to the changes that need to be made in our industry. Proceeds from this American Pale Ale will be donated towards Diversity in Brewing, in support of their Annual Monetary Scholarship Award for self-identifying Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, and/or LGBTQ2S+ brewing students who are enrolled at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Our Brave Noise brew will be available in coming weeks at our vancouver brewpub and online Brewstore.

A big thank you to the leaders at Brave Noise and the likeminded, progressive breweries that have joined in this collaboration to date.
